“Artists are the Gatekeepers of Truth” - Paul Robeson

I first learned of this quote when working with Harry Belafonte in 2016 when we launched the Many Rivers to Cross Social Justice Music & Arts Festival. I’ll get into what that work aimed to do and what’s happening in our world in a different blog post, but tonight, let’s look at what IS good in the world: MUSIC IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE AGAIN Y’ALL! From Gaga to 2 Chainz to Bey & Megan Thee Stallion to Alicia Keys, here are a few examples of how artists are gatekeeping truth and making a difference.
