Apple Round and Rounds

Lisa (Johnson) Kara from Zinc Nutrition stops by to give us TWO ways to satisfy that late night craving for something good. Apple rounds (healthier than rice cakes) served savory and sweet. This recipe is great because it does’t require any cooking time or fancy shmancy tools. And it’s great for kids, they love to get their little paws dirty and add their own toppings.  

Savory Ingredients:

  • 1 large organic apple

  • 1/2 avocado, mashed

  • pinch of sea salt

Sweet Ingredients:

  • 1 large organic apple

  • 1 tbsp nut butter

  • 1/2 tsp Cocoa Nibs

Directions:

  1. Cut apple sideways into round disks, remove seeds

  2. Top half with avocado + dash of sea salt

  3. Top half with nut butter + cocoa nibs

  4. Enjoy!
